Caribbean

We work with a lot of clients in the Caribbean. With the Caribbean economy based heavily in the tourism and hospitality industries, many of these businesses struggled to stay afloat during the pandemic.

In addition, the rise of Millennials and Gen-Z as major consumers with unique spending habits has presented its own challenges for the travel and hospitality industries. These consumers tend to value cultural and once-in-a-lifetime experiences more than previous generations.

One of our clients, a heritage cocoa and nutmeg plantation in Grenada, was facing all these challenges and more. After rising from the ashes after Hurricane Ivan struck the island in 2004, the estate made a stunning transformation from an ailing traditional plantation to a thriving, transformative agri-business. The estate knew it offered visitors something special—but it needed the rest of the world to know, too!

That’s where Social Mavens came in. First, we went down to Grenada to capture photos and video of the estate. With this content, we were able to develop a beautiful new website and social campaigns. In accordance with the latest trends, we also used our network of influencers to generate buzz about the estate and the unique experiences it offers.

Today, the estate is recovering from the COVID slump and thriving, offering visitors a once-in-a-lifetime experience and providing a source of income for its community!
